A Gorgeous Hot Springs Proposal On The Lake

A Surprise Proposal on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs

Yeong reached out to me with an amazing surprise proposal idea for his girlfriend, Steph, to do on the 4th of July. He had rented out a beautiful lake house on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where they would be staying for a few days to celebrate the holiday. The plan was to take her out to dinner and bring her back to the lake house, where the dock would be all decorated for a proposal, and their dearest friends and family would secretly be hiding inside waiting to surprise Steph. I was all for the idea of a proposal in Hot Springs and ready to help document the whole thing.

The Proposal

I arrived at the house first to find a spot to hide and wait. Some of the couple’s favorite people took the time to decorate the dock with lights, flowers, and candles to really set the romantic scene for the proposal before they went and hid in the house. Yeong arrived with Steph shortly after and brought her around the back of the house and down to the dock. I was hiding behind some bushes and waited for them to pass by me before springing out and shooting away as he guided her down to the decorated area of flowers and candles (don’t worry, they were battery-operated candles to avoid any accidents!).

When they made it to the designated spot, Yeong dropped down on his knee and asked her to marry him. After he put the ring on Steph’s hand, she hopped up and down in excitement in the cutest way. Yeong turned around to spot me and gave me a big smile and thumbs up, and that’s when Steph noticed I was secretly photographing the whole thing and gave me a happy little wave.

Their family and friends hid in the house peeking out to watch the proposal and came out to wave and congratulate them afterwards. We went inside for the couple to say hi to everyone, and of course so Steph could show off her new beautiful ring! There was a sweet moment while everyone was gawking at Steph’s ring where Steph’s dad put his arm around Yeong as he watched his daughter, and then went in to hug Yeong. We then took some group photos with everyone before heading back outside for photos of the couple during sunset.

The Rest of the Night

After taking some couple’s photos, we went back inside to hang out with everyone and kill some time while we waited for the fireworks to start. There was lots of laughs and playing with the family dog. Once it was dark enough, we headed back out and watched some fireworks across the lake and took some more romantic photos with all the lights strung up along the dock.

It was overall a super successful and beautiful Hot Springs proposal that I’m grateful Yeong asked me to be a part of.
